On a Zambia safari at KaingU Lodge, there is no shortage of exciting activities including tailor made game drives, bush walks and cruises. There are many fantastic settings for bush meals and stunning views.

KaingU Lodge puts emphasis on a complete Zambia safari experience where guests get to know the environment, the people and the animals. Guests can Relax at the lodge or enjoy a wide variety of excursions and activities.

Guided walks:

There are early morning circular walks or walks with a bush brunch and later a drive back of the lodge in a game viewing vehicle. These excursions are tailor-made and habitats and environments vary from season to season.

River walks:

An early morning walk alongside the river followed by a transfer to an island to explore or fish, have brunch and then cruise back to the lodge.

Fishing excursions:

There is fly, lure and bait fishing on the many channels of the river, guests can go for a day or a few hours. The lodge can supply basic fishing tackle if needed.

River cruises:

Take in all the sights and sounds on a relaxing, leisurely cruise on the Kafue River, providing excellent photo opportunities.

Game viewing:

Guests can enjoy an early morning drive out in an open game viewing vehicle followed by a guided walk back to camp for those wishing to get close to nature.

Away from the banks of the Kafue River there is a wide variety of woodlands as well as open grasslands. These host an amazing array of wildlife species including over 150 different mammals  more than any Park in Africa  as well as an amazing 470 species of bird.

Sundowner excursions:

After a late afternoon guided walk to special spots, guests can enjoy sundowners, or even a bush barbecue at spectacular viewpoints, afterwards there is an early night drive back to the lodge.

Specialist birding:

Kafue River and its surroundings boast over 470 different bird species. Specialist birding outings on foot or by boat can be arranged for half or full days to different habitats. A delightful picnic with meals and refreshments will be provided.

Walks in the National Park:

Just opposite the lodge is the Kafue National Park, perfect for tailor-made walks with overnight camping and an escape into undisturbed wilderness make for an unforgettable experience.
