KaingU Safari Lodge:

KaingU is an owner run Zambia game lodge with a superb position on the great Kafue River, one of Africa's greatest rivers.

Located about 200km (124 miles) upstream from its merging with the mighty Zambezi River, KaingU is set in a pristine wilderness and offers a wonderful safari in Kafue, Zambia, really the heart of the African bush.

Accommodation:

There is a family house and 4 luxury East African safari tents which have thatch covers and are raised on rosewood platforms to overlook the river, a spacious en-suite bathroom and unusual outdoor shower complete each suite.

The central meeting place for meals and socialising is the thatched boma (enclosure) with lovely deck, fireplace and views over the river, lounge, bar and dining room.

Mukambi Safari Lodge & Busanga Plains Camp:

Located on the banks of the Kafue River, Mukambi Safari Lodge offers a variety of activities in the park and also runs Busanga Plains Camp, in the far north of the park, accessible in the dry season from July to October.

On safari in Kafue, Zambia, the 5 hour drive to the camp moves through various habitats with abundant wildlife and is really like one long game drive.

The plains are famous for Red Lechwe and Roan, also huge herds of Buffalo and Wildebeest not forgetting the plains Lions and Cheetahs, Leopards and Wild Dogs.

Hippo Lodge:

Further north along the banks of the Kafue River is Hippo Lodge. Happy days can be spent game-viewing, by vehicle or boat and on foot, ticking away at that bird list, fishing the Kafue hot spots and unwinding with sundowners in a natural hot spring.

Delicious bush meals are served on idyllic islands in the Kafue River and guests can catch magnificent sunsets or take an insightful trip in to the past with a tour of a derelict copper mine.

Accommodation: Hippo is a small, stone built vintage-style camp with 4 unique private chalets and two rustic safari tents that have open-air stone bathrooms.

Mc Brides Camp:

In the North East of the Kafue National Park, the camp is situated in one of the last remaining wilderness areas in Africa, there are no roads and almost no signs of humans.

This uncommon, intense wilderness experience together with the full array of wildlife and astonishing birdlife makes McBride's Camp very special.
