See game and magnificent scenery on an awesome microlight flight or on land, day and night, with exclusive 4 seater safari vehicles. Walk, cycle, and canoe with excellent safari guides at Tafika Safari Camp and have the best Zambia holiday safari.

Tafika Safari Camp is open in the dry season from May to November and also in the beautiful green season from February to April when the Luangwa River is in full flood for an exciting safari in Zambia.

Children under the age of 10 years may be accepted at Tafika at management discretion and will be given separate childrens dinner at night. Parents are advised to request a private game viewing vehicle for maximum flexibility.

Activities at Tafika Safari Camp:

For Walking and River Safaris children must be aged 12 years or older.

Day and night drives:

The vehicles at Tafika Camp can seat only 4 passengers, ensuring that all guests can hear the guide and enjoy the insights and knowledge imparted. Game drives take place twice daily. The sunset drive has sundowners and usually extends in to a night drive with spotlight. All night drives have the extra services of a dedicated and trained spotter. Tafika boasts excellent Leopard spotting.

Walking safaris:

This activity is also offered twice daily accompanied by a guide, National Parks armed scout and a very important person, the tea bearer! Other extended walks over a number of days to other camps and areas are offered also.

River safaris and canoeing:

These take place during the green season from February to April when the Luangwa River is full, adding a delightful element to game viewing and bird watching. Only 4 guests accepted at a time and there is a 12kg luggage limit per person.

Microlight flights:

These incredible 15 minute breathtaking adventures are not scheduled but usually take place early in the day with the pilot who is the owner of Tafika.

Mountain bike safaris:

For the more energetic! Guests are accompanied by a guide and armed escort scout taking routes through the Game Management Area next to Tafika and possibly along the main roads thought the South Luangwa National Park. Animals that are often seen include Elephant, Buffalo, Impala, Puku Warthog and Zebra.

Cultural visits:

Learn about the lives of the local people at Mkasanga Village and the school. There is also an outpatients clinic, which was built by villagers and funded by the generosity of past guests and other participants. There is a fund managed by Tafika which provides community support for learning.

Painting safaris:

Paints and brushes are supplied at the camp for inspired guests. Professional guidance can also be arranged with the help of a well known Zambian artist and guide, Rory McDougall.

Private guiding:

Particularly recommended for families and serious photographers.
