Tafika Camp is in a remote spot immediately outside the Nsefu sector of the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. This park is one of the most beautiful and untouched wildlife sanctuaries left in Africa.
Tafika Safari Camp is open in the dry season from May to November and also in the spectacular green season from February to April when the Luangwa River is full and water excursions by boat and canoe add a whole new dimension to game viewing.
Access to Tafika Safari Camp in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia:
Mfuwe International Airport has customs and immigration facilities. It is recommended that guests take the air charter option as it is much quicker and more comfortable.
Fly in:
Guests can take an air charter flight from Mfuwe International Airport to Mwanya airstrip (also called New Lukusi) a 1 200 metre grass strip. This journey takes about 15 minutes.
From Mwanya airstrip (S12:51' E032:02') to Tafika is a 15 minute road transfer.
By road:
Guests can fly in to Mfuwe International Airport and then take a 2 hour road transfer through the Nsefu Sector of the South Luangwa National Park to Tafika Safari Camp.
