Chamilandu is in the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia - an area of outstanding beauty, it is remote, untouched and there are no fences whatsoever, so game roam freely about the camp on the banks of the Luangwa River.

The Luangwa River with its abundant riverine wildlife has made the valley famous. A series of ox-bow lagoons and diverse habitats are attractive to an intense concentration of game. Walking safaris were pioneered here.

The South Luangwa Valley really is one of Africas last undiscovered jewels and lies at the tail end of the Great Rift Valley which accounts for the wonderful escarpment scenery and lakes.

Changing seasons in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia range from dry and bare bushveld (open grassland) in the winter to lush green expanses in the summer months.

Chamilandu is open from 1 June to 31 October every year. The closest airport is Mfuwe from which guests are transferred by vehicle to the lodge or on foot if requested.
