The South Luangwa National Park is home to Elephant, Buffalo and Lion alike. There are also regular sightings of various Antelope, Giraffe, Zebra, Puku, Bushbuck, Warthog and Baboons as well as Hippos.
Game viewing activities are tailored to the guests in camp at the time but usually small parties are taken into the park twice daily in open vehicles on this Zambia tour.
Night drives on this Zambia tour with a spotlight are one of the highlights of the Luangwa Valley giving the chance to see nocturnal animals such as Hyena, Porcupine, Civet, Genet, Honeybadger and particularly Leopard for which the area is now famous.
Walking safaris from camp are not strenuous and are conducted a pace determined by our guests but usually last 3 to 4 hours. They are led by a fully qualified guide and armed game scout.
Client Requirements:
Binoculars. Torch / flashlight. Personal toiletries. Malaria prophylactics. Sunblock and insect repellent. Valid travel and medical insurance. Video camera - ensure that you brink spare batteries. Cameras if required - please bring a large supply of film. Please advise Safari Par Excellence of any dietary requirements.Good, comfortable worn in walking shoes (preferably not new). Natural / earthy colours when participating in game drives or walks. National Parks Entry Fee of US$20.00 - US$30.00 per person per night payable direct in cash. Warm clothes for winter evenings (June to mid August). Jersey / jacket / tracksuit for cool evenings. Personal clothing - shorts and T-shirts are sufficient during the day and a long sleeved shirt is recommended to protect arms from the hot sun during the day. Don't forget a hat. Guests are asked to please keep their luggage down to a minimum and preferably in soft holdall bags. Excess baggage and valuables can be left in Lusaka and collected on your return.
