Bordering the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, with a direct view over the spray of the Victoria Falls, this exclusive safari lodge in Zambia will take you back to the Africa of the 1920s.
From almost every room at this Zambia game lodge you can see distant views of the mighty Victoria Falls. Set on a hill overlooking unspoilt bush, Stanley is a perfect base from which to explore the delights of the area - from river rafting and bungee jumping to sunset cruises and Elephant-back safaris. You can dine outdoors under the stars, in the privacy of your suite or even in the infinity pool.
The African style and furnishings of the lodge reflect the textures and patterns of Africa, and your hosts here will do their best to make your stay a memorable one. It doesn't get more romantic than this in the Honeymoon Suite -crisp white linen, views of the spray from the Falls and your own private plunge pool.
The Victoria Falls and its surroundings offer a wide variety of activities. Around the Victoria Falls are some fine national parks such as Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and Chobe National Park (Botswana), which can all be visited. Chobe National Park is home to the world's largest Elephant population, which represents a third of all African Elephant and is ideal to visit both by boat and 4x4 vehicle.
This Zambia game lodge has excellent air and road connections and is an excellent starting point for your safari in Southern Africa (Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia).
Stanley Safari Lodge also offers safaris to the remote South Luangwa National Park and can arrange your trip to other Zambia safari destinations in Zambia (Luangwa, Lower Zambezi), Botswana's Okavango Delta or Namibia. Dr Livingstone was the first European to see Victoria Falls in 1855. Known locally as Mosi-Oa-Tunya or 'the smoke that thunders' because of the spray made by the mass of water dropping 100 metres below in the gorges. Livingstone renamed the falls Victoria Falls in honour of Queen Victoria.
Fifty years later, missionaries and traders settled in the small Zambian town of Livingstone and the railway bridge over the Zambezi was built. The UNESCO proclaimed the Falls as a World Heritage Site, due to its unique nature.
